Members of the Montgomery County and Palatine Chambers, campaign donors and Liberty representatives recently celebrated the opening of Liberty’s Building Bright Futures Capital Campaign with a ribbon cutting celebration. The new facility, known as Mohawk Day Hab, is located at 91 West Main Street in Canajoharie. The new facility is beautifully decorated and designed, and features a sensory room and animal therapy room

“This new facility is beautiful” states Chamber Board Chairman, Chuck Schwartz. “Liberty did a wonderful job creating this building. I am sure the community will benefit greatly from it and hope to see more from their Building Bright Futures Capital Campaign. The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the territory expansion of Curves of Perth. Proprietor, Darla DelSignore, recently increased her customer base to include the Amsterdam territory of Curves, adding to her existing Perth territory. The expansion and success of her business is a direct result of Darla’s investment in the latest equipment and techniques she can offer to her customers.

“I have been in the business of strengthening women for 61/2 years and I welcome all new and previous Curves members from the Amsterdam area to my Perth location,” states Darla.

Darla has recently added the Curves Circuit with Zumba Fitness to her regimen of work out options. It is the only 30 minute class that mixes the moves of Zumba with the proven strength of training of Curves for a wildly effective workout. “I encourage Chamber and community members to check out Darla’s fabulous facility,” states Membership Assistant, Andrea Brooks. “It is wonderful to see a local business expand and grow and succeed today’s economy.”

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for the 30th Anniversary of Sievert’s Sporting Goods located at 4804 State Highway 30 North in Amsterdam. Proprietor, Randy Wojdyla, celebrated the anniversary by offering his customers 30% off his entire store.

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for the season opening of Hummingbird Hills Winery, located at 1442 Burtonville Road in Fultonville. Proprietors, Ken and Kimm Shick are excited to begin their second season as Montgomery County’s only winery. Besides wine they offer a variety of decorative items and goodies. They are open every other weekend for wine tastings, 11am-6pm, dates are available on their website at www.hummingbirdhillswinery.com or by calling the winery at 875-6919.

“Hummingbird Hills Winery is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon” states Membership Assistant, Andrea Brooks. “It is a beautiful vineyard. The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. I encourage those who have not yet been, to visit this lovely place.”

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for the Grand Opening of Vino, the new wine bar in Nicolino’s Restaurant located at 4515 State Highway 30 in Amsterdam. Proprietor, Antonella Cassella, has redesigned her banquet room into a hip new wine bar, including couches, chairs, and a brand new menu to compliment the various types of wines offered.

Nicolino’s Restaurant has been in operation for over 27 years. “It is wonderful to see a business that has been a part of the community for so many years, expand and grow” states Membership Assistant, Andrea Brooks. “The Vino wine bar is a great place to relax with friends over a glass of wine.”

Natural Bridge Farms to hold Business Mixer!

Chamber Clarifies Map Project

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is working with Community Link on a county and city wide street map.  Our sales representative, Rader Walker is visiting area businesses through May 27 regarding advertising on this map.  The Communitylink map is the only map endorsed by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

It has come to our attention however, that another company is in the area erroneously stating that they are working on our behalf.  The name of the company is premier Maps out of Iowa and Texas.

Please note the following bullets and call us at 842-8200 with any questions or concerns.   Please note that the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce will promote any projects that we are working on to our members directly.  We also advise that you do not pay for any advertising services with cash when in doubt of the legitimacy of a project.

  • Any sales calls from Premier Maps are not endorsed by the Chamber.
  • All contact from Premier Maps will be through a telemarketer
  • Telemarketer will ask your member if they want to renew their previous ad on the Chamber map as is.  They will take the previous CommunityLink map and cut out the ads and fax or email these to members and local businesses.
  • Premier Maps will request that payment be made via credit card.
  • The CommunityLink Sales Representative is Rader Walker – Rader will be in the community visiting with members through May 27, 2011.

Chamber’s Membership Campaign Has Historic Results, Strengthens Business Organization

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently embarked on a membership campaign spearheaded by Campaign Co-chairs Andy Heck of Alpin Haus, and Brennen Parker of Rose and Kiernan.  The campaign was geared to bring more businesses into the organization to connect more of the business community and increase their sphere of influence.  It also offered several promotional incentives directed at increasing awareness of these businesses throughout the community through the website, direct mail, radio and newspaper.

Nine teams of nearly 100 business leader volunteers assisted the Chamber in this undertaking, participating in the campaign while working at their regular jobs.  123 businesses throughout the region got on board, surpassing the goal of 100 new members.  Adding nearly 25% to the membership base, the Montgomery County Chamber now represents over 560 business members and 6,000 employees in the region.

“The Chamber, even in a tough economic climate, adds tremendous value to all members,” stated Brennen Parker at the onset of the campaign.  “As both the incoming chair of the Board and the co-chair of the membership campaign, I am delighted to witness the results, excitement and energy that our Chamber has experienced. With our additional 122 new members we will be a more vital organization with increased leverage to express the views of our members. A continued involvement from the board and all of the members will be great to see. It should be a charge of everyone to participate at their highest possible level to ensure a return on their investment. We are a member organization and in this economic climate we have to work together to bring prosperity. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of this Chamber and this historically successful campaign.”

The Chamber had a dynamic group of volunteers that were eager to share the benefits of being a member with their business neighbors.  This commitment made this the most successful campaign in history and brought the number of members to the highest it has been in anyone’s recollection.

“In this membership campaign we had an opportunity to build and reinforce business relationships,” states Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Charles Schwartz of the Schwartz Law Firm.  “The results we have achieved show that nothing is impossible with effort and teamwork.”

Several area businesses partnered with the Chamber to offer special ‘Why Join Now’ incentives during the campaign.  The Chamber thanks Lite 104.7 FM WVTL, The Recorder, WCSS 1490 AM, Quality Express Printing, Joe D.
