The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of the United Way of Montgomery County collected a semi-truck full of needed items for county flood victims.
“We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our community’s donations,” states Lauren Bibby, Executive Director, United Way of Montgomery County. “During these tough times it is imperative to support each other and those in need. Montgomery County is strong and will persevere,” adds Interim President, Peter Capobianco.
Capobianco continues, “While we have ceased taking physical items, donations of a monetary value can be made to the flood victims at NBT Bank in the Hannaford Plaza, Route 30, Amsterdam.”
The truck load of items will be sorted and distributed to Montgomery County residents in need with the remainder of the items going to Schoharie County, where the storms have also wreaked havoc.
