About Us
The Chamber has been serving the area and representing the voice of the business community for over 125 years, tracing our roots to the 1888 founding of the Amsterdam Board of Trade. We incorporated as the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce in 1916, and became the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce in 1984.
We are an advocate for our broad and diverse member businesses, working together to create a climate of growth and success. We provide opportunities for business and individuals to make a difference by connecting them to important community issues and leaders. The Chamber facilitates communication for the betterment of our community and are the catalyst of promotion and unity. We maintain the pulse of the business community and collaboratively make our business voice louder and the pulse of business stronger.
We are a non-profit membership driven organization that generates our revenue from membership investment, programming, and partnership programs. As such, we are governed by a Board of Directors and managed on a day-to-day basis by professional employed staff.
The Chamber collaboratively coordinates and leverages the energy, talent and leadership of individuals and business to make Montgomery County a better place to do business on your behalf, every day. Through various programs, projects and activities, we contribute to improving the quality of life for everyone, businesses and residents.
Mission Statement: The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce actively supports the business community!
"I have been involved with The Chamber for several years and my participation in this organization has been more valuable than any other. I have had the opportunity to meet and become fiends with many community and business leaders, experience a large growth in my book of business and genuinely feel like an important part of this county's future." Brennen Parker, Vice President, Rose & Kiernan
